Leg cuff therapy tested to fight repeat strokes

NCT ID NCT03921827

Summary

This study tested whether a therapy using leg cuffs could help people who recently had a stroke or mini-stroke caused by a severe blockage in a major brain artery. The therapy, called Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP), gently squeezes the legs to boost blood flow. Researchers wanted to see if this non-invasive treatment could improve the brain's ability to regulate its blood supply and prevent another stroke.
