Zap therapy could help stroke survivors swallow again

NCT ID NCT07415785

Summary

This study tested whether adding mild electrical stimulation to standard swallowing therapy helps stroke patients with swallowing difficulties. Researchers worked with 60 stroke patients who needed feeding tubes, comparing electrical stimulation plus therapy to therapy alone. The goal was to see if this combination could help patients eat and drink more safely and improve their quality of life.
