Researchers test which swallowing check works better after stroke

NCT ID NCT05603897

Summary

This study compares two different swallowing tests to see which one better identifies swallowing problems and aspiration risk in stroke patients during rehabilitation. Researchers will enroll 50 adults who recently had a stroke and are in rehabilitation. The goal is to determine if a standardized test is more effective than the usual non-standardized approach at catching these important safety issues.
