Hidden back tissue may hold key to stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT07107295

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at a layer of tissue in the lower back (thoracolumbar fascia) in people who had a stroke at least 6 months ago. Researchers want to see if its thickness is related to balance, trunk control, flexibility, and daily independence. About 70 participants aged 40-70 will have ultrasound scans and physical tests. The goal is to better understand how this tissue affects recovery, not to test a new treatment.
