New stroke procedure aims to stop second clots and boost recovery
NCT ID NCT07356284
Summary
This study is for people who have just had a major stroke caused by a large blood clot. After doctors remove the main clot, some patients still have a severely narrowed artery that could cause another stroke. This trial will test if immediately placing a small mesh tube (stent) to prop open that narrowed section is safe and helps people recover better 90 days later, compared to standard medication alone.
