Stiff ankles after stroke: a hidden cause of falls?
NCT ID NCT07174037
Summary
This study aims to understand how stiffness in the ankle muscles (plantar flexor spasticity) affects balance and the risk of falling in people who have had a stroke. Researchers will measure muscle stiffness, balance, and mobility in 68 stroke survivors to see if higher stiffness leads to more instability. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help improve future rehabilitation strategies for preventing falls.
