Scientists search heart tissue for clues to prevent strokes
NCT ID NCT06405750
Summary
This research aims to learn if a simple heart rhythm test (ECG) can predict which patients are at high risk for forming dangerous blood clots that cause stroke. The study involves 1,000 people already scheduled for heart surgery. During their operation, a small piece of heart tissue is removed and analyzed alongside their ECG to look for biological markers of clotting risk.
