Stroke rehab study: does patient perception match reality?

NCT ID NCT06569771

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study follows 100 stroke survivors with arm weakness to see how their own sense of arm use changes during intensive rehab. Researchers compare patients' perceptions with actual arm function using standard tests. The goal is to better understand the gap between what patients feel they can do and what they can actually do.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help design better rehabilitation programs that align with patients' own sense of arm use after stroke.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not testing a treatment. It may not lead to direct improvements in recovery.
