Zap and pedal: new stroke rehab trial tests electric boost for arm recovery
NCT ID NCT07484854
Summary
This study is testing if adding a special type of arm exercise to standard stroke rehab helps people recover better. Researchers want to see if using a stationary arm bike with mild electrical muscle stimulation (FES) improves heart fitness and arm movement more than the bike alone. They are recruiting 24 people who had a stroke within the last 6 months to try one of these two exercise add-ons for about a month.
