New combo therapy aims to restore movement after stroke

NCT ID NCT07454954

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether combining two therapies—blood flow restriction training (using a cuff to partially restrict blood flow during exercise) and brain stimulation (rTMS)—can improve arm and hand function in people who have weakness on one side after a stroke. 69 adults will be split into three groups to compare standard rehab, rehab plus brain stimulation, and rehab plus both therapies. The goal is to see if the combo approach leads to better recovery of movement and daily activities over 4 weeks.
