Stroke rehab showdown: photos, videos, or pictograms – which works best?
NCT ID NCT07097779
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether photos, videos, or pictograms help stroke survivors understand and perform simple physical movements. Fifty participants completed three short motor tasks, each guided by a different visual aid, and then rated their experience. The goal is to find which visual aid is clearest and easiest to use for stroke rehabilitation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
visual aids (photos, videos, pictograms)
What this could lead to
If this study shows which visual aid works best, it could help therapists design better rehab exercises for stroke survivors.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 50 participants. Results may not apply to all stroke survivors, and it does not test long-term recovery.
