First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a gentle electrical current to leg muscles during exercise can improve foot movement and reduce stiffness in people who had a stroke at least 6 months ago. 25 adults aged 43-83 with mild foot weakness will be split into two groups: one gets standard physical therapy, the other gets the same therapy plus electrical stimulation. Researchers will measure changes in muscle tightness, range of motion, and strength over 12 weeks.
