Can a Doctor's gut feeling beat a Computer's score in predicting stroke recovery?

NCT ID NCT04063982

Summary

This study aimed to see if doctors and nurses are better at predicting a patient's long-term recovery after a serious brain bleed than standard medical scoring systems. Researchers followed over 1,000 patients with two types of brain bleeds. They compared the predictions made by the care team on admission with the scores from established medical models, then checked the actual patient outcomes 3 and 6 months later.
