First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study followed 364 stroke patients who needed a breathing machine in the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers wanted to see how well these patients recovered 3 months and 1 year later, using a disability scale. The goal was to better understand what happens to people after a severe stroke, not to test a new treatment.
