Herbal pills tested to stop second strokes in major trial
NCT ID NCT07200921
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a traditional Chinese herbal medicine called Naoxuekang Dropping Pills to standard medical care can help prevent future strokes, heart attacks, and other serious blood vessel problems in people who recently had a brain bleed caused by high blood pressure. About 1,950 participants who had the brain bleed within the past week will take either the herbal pills or a placebo (inactive pill) for 90 days, while also receiving standard guideline-based care. Researchers will track whether participants have fewer serious vascular events over the following year.
