New tool aims to close racial gap in stroke prevention care
NCT ID NCT04956978
Summary
This study is testing a new decision-making tool designed to help Black and White patients with a common heart rhythm problem (atrial fibrillation) understand the risks and benefits of taking blood thinners to prevent strokes. The goal is to see if this tool improves the quality of patients' decisions and increases the use of these important medications, particularly among Black patients where usage is often lower. The study will enroll 40 people to see if the tool is practical and acceptable to use in clinic visits.
