Life-Saving pill tested to shield children from devastating strokes

Summary

This study aims to prevent first strokes in children with sickle cell disease in Nigeria. It will test how well a daily pill called hydroxyurea works in 220 children aged 5-12 who are at high risk for stroke. The goal is to see if this affordable and practical treatment can safely and effectively protect these children from having a stroke.
