Could a tiny neck implant stop deadly strokes in heart patients?
NCT ID NCT05723926
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests if a small filter placed in the neck arteries can catch blood clots before they reach the brain, preventing strokes in people with atrial fibrillation who already had a stroke. About 2,000 participants will either get the implant plus blood thinners or just blood thinners alone. The goal is to see if the implant reduces the risk of another major stroke.
