Scientists seek to predict stroke recovery success with simple blood test

Summary

This study aims to find out why some stroke survivors improve their walking with high-intensity interval training (HIIT) while others do not. Researchers will measure blood lactate, brain chemicals, and blood flow in 55 Veterans with chronic stroke. The goal is to build a model that predicts who will respond best to this type of rehabilitation.
