Brain zaps and video therapy: new hope for stroke hand recovery?

NCT ID NCT07400939

First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at how a treatment that pairs mild brain stimulation (tDCS) with watching hand movement videos (action observation therapy) helps stroke survivors regain hand control. Researchers will measure brain and muscle activity changes in 60 adults who had a stroke 6-24 months ago. The goal is to understand why this combination works, not to test a cure.
