Scientists probe nerve signals to unlock Stiff-Knee walking after stroke

NCT ID NCT04947865

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at how nerve reflexes in the thigh muscle affect walking in people who have had a stroke and have a stiff-knee gait. Researchers use mild electrical stimulation to measure reflex activity while participants walk. The goal is to better understand the link between reflexes and walking patterns, not to provide treatment. About 60 adults, both with and without stroke, will take part.
