New hope for stroke patients: drug may work even 24 hours after symptoms

Summary

This study tests a drug called rhTNK-tPA (Mingfule) to see if it can help people who have had a major stroke and can be treated between 4.5 and 24 hours after symptoms start. About 890 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if the drug improves recovery and reduces long-term disability.
