New shot aims to halt stroke worsening after emergency treatment

NCT ID NCT07301372

Summary

This study is testing if giving an extra cholesterol-lowering injection (evolocumab) soon after standard clot-busting treatment can help control a stroke. It will see if this prevents patients' neurological symptoms from getting worse in the first week and helps them recover better by 90 days. The trial involves 132 adults who have had a stroke caused by clogged arteries and received standard thrombolysis treatment within 9 hours.
