Race against time: new drug could extend stroke treatment window

NCT ID NCT07389460

Summary

This study is testing if giving a clot-dissolving drug (rhPro-UK) by IV before a standard clot-removal surgery helps people recover better from a major stroke. It focuses on patients who arrive for treatment 4.5 to 24 hours after their stroke symptoms began, which is later than the usual window. The main goal is to see if this two-step approach leads to more people living independently 90 days after their stroke, while carefully checking for risks like brain bleeding.
