Race to stop second strokes: major trial tests common drug combo

NCT ID NCT06360120

Summary

This study aims to see if adding one of two cholesterol-lowering drugs (atorvastatin or rosuvastatin) to the blood thinner clopidogrel is better at preventing a second stroke in people who just had their first major ischemic stroke. It will enroll 600 adults and compare which drug combination leads to fewer new strokes and better recovery over 3 months. The goal is to find the most effective routine to control stroke risk and improve outcomes.
