Breakthrough ambulance test could save lives by spotting deadly strokes in minutes

NCT ID NCT07003477

Summary

This study aims to develop and test a rapid finger-prick test that paramedics can use in an ambulance to quickly tell if a patient is having a bleeding stroke. It will involve about 527 people who arrive at the emergency room with suspected stroke symptoms. The goal is to see if this fast diagnosis can help start a specific, time-sensitive blood pressure treatment sooner to improve patient recovery.
