Doctors test eye scan for faster stroke detection

NCT ID NCT06492681

Summary

This study tested whether a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan of the eye's optic nerve could help emergency doctors identify which side of the brain is affected in a patient with a suspected stroke. Researchers measured the nerve in 19 adult patients and compared it to the results of a standard neurological exam. The goal was to see if this simple scan could be a useful tool for faster diagnosis in the emergency room.
