Blood test could speed stroke patients to Life-Saving surgery

NCT ID NCT04726839

Summary

This study tested a new blood test designed to quickly identify stroke patients who have a major blockage in a large brain artery. The goal is to help paramedics decide which hospital to take a patient to, so those who need specialized clot-removal surgery get there directly without delays. Researchers enrolled 3,880 adults with recent stroke symptoms to see if the blood test could accurately detect these major blockages before a brain scan.
