Breaking the silence: new test helps doctors understand stroke Patients' minds

NCT ID NCT01904799

Summary

This study tested a new cognitive assessment tool called CASP, designed specifically for stroke patients who have trouble speaking or understanding language (aphasia). The goal was to see if doctors could reliably use this 15-minute test to check memory, thinking, and other brain functions in these patients without relying on verbal responses. Researchers enrolled 263 recent stroke patients and control patients to validate the tool's accuracy.
