Suction vs. stent: race to save stroke brains

NCT ID NCT02523261

Summary

This study tested which of two medical devices is better for quickly removing a blood clot from the brain after a major stroke. It compared a suction technique (ADAPT) against a more common stent retriever device. The goal was to see if the suction method could open blocked blood vessels more completely, which helps reduce long-term disability.
