Race against time: drug given before transfer could save stroke patients from severe disability

NCT ID NCT07203625

Summary

This study is testing if giving a clot-busting drug (tenecteplase) to stroke patients before they are transferred to a specialized hospital for a clot-removal procedure leads to better recovery. It focuses on patients with a severe type of stroke caused by a blockage in a major brain artery, who arrive at a hospital 4.5 to 24 hours after symptoms start. The main goal is to see if this early drug treatment helps more patients regain independence and avoid severe disability.
