Race against time: which drug lowers blood pressure faster for stroke patients?
NCT ID NCT07277283
Summary
This study compared two common blood pressure medications (nicardipine and labetalol) to see which one works faster to lower dangerously high blood pressure in stroke patients. Researchers wanted to know which drug helps patients reach safe blood pressure levels more quickly so they can receive clot-busting treatment sooner. The trial involved 34 adults with acute ischemic stroke who needed rapid blood pressure control before emergency stroke therapy.
