Blood test could reduce unnecessary brain scans for stroke symptoms
NCT ID NCT05002400
Summary
This study tested whether a blood marker called PS100B could help doctors diagnose stroke in patients who have had symptoms for 1-4 days. Researchers enrolled 179 patients with stroke-like symptoms to see if the blood test could accurately identify who actually had a stroke. The goal was to determine if this test could help avoid unnecessary brain imaging for patients who don't have a stroke.
