More therapy hours boost stroke arm recovery, study finds

NCT ID NCT06571292

Summary

This study tested whether more frequent and longer therapy sessions improve arm movement after a stroke. Twenty stroke survivors were split into two groups: one received intensive therapy (5 days/week, 2 hours/day) and the other received standard therapy (3 days/week, 1 hour/day) for four weeks. Both groups used a robotic arm device and practiced specific tasks, but the intensive group showed greater improvement in arm function, strength, and daily activities.
