Zap and play: brain stimulation meets VR games to reclaim movement after stroke

NCT ID NCT04291573

Summary

This study tested whether combining two therapies could help people regain arm function long after a stroke. Researchers gave 58 chronic stroke patients a rehabilitation program using virtual reality games, with some also receiving a gentle, targeted brain stimulation called HD-tDCS. The goal was to see if this combination could better rewire the brain and improve the ability to use the weakened arm in daily life.
