Summary

This study aimed to understand why stress makes chronic widespread pain worse. Researchers compared 44 patients with fibromyalgia to 44 healthy women, putting them through mental stress tests and relaxation exercises. They collected blood samples and other measurements to look for changes in DNA and body chemistry related to stress and pain sensitivity.
