Sugar stress test may spot delirium risk before surgery
NCT ID NCT07194096
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a simple blood sugar measurement, called the stress hyperglycemia ratio, can help predict who might develop confusion (delirium) after surgery. Researchers will review records from 15,000 adults who had non-brain, non-heart surgeries. The goal is to find a better way to identify high-risk patients early so preventive steps can be taken.
