Can childhood trauma lead to chronic pain? major study investigates
NCT ID NCT07301944
Summary
This study aims to understand if stressful or traumatic life experiences increase a person's risk of developing fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition. Researchers will follow 534 people—some with other rheumatic diseases and some healthy—for one year, checking in every few months. They will use questionnaires to measure participants' past adversity and track if they develop fibromyalgia symptoms over time.
