Scientists probe Stress-Cannabis link in brain
NCT ID NCT06430580
Summary
This study aims to understand how stress affects the brain's response to cannabis cues and increases cravings in people with cannabis use disorder. Researchers will give 36 participants different drug combinations that mimic stress responses and measure brain activity, blood markers, and behavior. The goal is to identify biological mechanisms that could lead to future treatments, but this early-phase study is focused on understanding the problem rather than testing a cure.
