Study probes how historical trauma affects pregnancy health

NCT ID NCT06008561

Summary

This study aims to understand why American Indian women in the Midwest experience higher rates of poor birth outcomes. Researchers will gather information from 80 pregnant American Indian women about their experiences with historical trauma and current stress, while also measuring their body's physical response to stress. The goal is to learn how these factors might be connected to pregnancy health and birth outcomes, in order to develop better support programs in the future.
