Squeeze away the pain: simple stress ball tested for kidney stone procedure
NCT ID NCT06846723
Summary
This study tested if using a simple stress ball could help patients during a common kidney stone treatment called shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). Researchers wanted to see if squeezing the ball could reduce the pain and anxiety patients often feel during the procedure, which might help them be more satisfied and more likely to finish all their required treatment sessions. The study involved 64 adults who were having this treatment for the first time.
