Train one leg, help the other: new approach to knee surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT03650374
Summary
This study tested whether starting strength exercises on the healthy leg immediately after knee surgery could help prevent muscle loss in the leg that was operated on. Researchers worked with 50 adults who had meniscus repair or transplant surgery. Half performed standard rehab, while the other half also did specific leg exercises for their non-surgical side starting right after surgery.
