Jump training may give sanda fighters faster kicks
NCT ID NCT07617831
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether combining strength training with plyometric (jump) exercises improves leg performance and kick speed in Sanda athletes. Thirty male Sanda fighters were split into two groups: one did only strength training, the other added plyometric jumps. After 8 weeks, researchers measured jump distance, jump height, agility, and kick speed. The goal was to see if the combined training leads to better lower-limb power and sport-specific performance.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Strength training and plyometric training
What this could lead to
If it works, this could help coaches design better training programs to improve leg power and kick speed in Sanda athletes.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 male athletes. Results may not apply to other groups or sports, and the training may not work for everyone.
