Summary

This early-stage study tested whether a drug called STP7 (mavoglurant) can safely reduce the physical and psychological effects of cocaine in 21 adults who use cocaine but are not seeking treatment. Participants received either STP7 or a placebo, then were given intravenous cocaine. Researchers monitored heart rate, blood pressure, and side effects to see if STP7 could help control cocaine's impact.
