Summary
This study compares two surgical procedures for people with severe, long-term constipation that hasn't improved with other treatments. One surgery removes the entire colon and connects the small intestine to the rectum; the other removes only part of the colon and connects the remaining colon to the rectum. The goal is to see which surgery leads to better bowel function and quality of life. The trial involves 252 adults.
