Hope for takayasu patients: study tests stopping biologic drugs after years of remission

NCT ID NCT07491913

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether people with Takayasu arteritis, a rare blood vessel disease, can safely stop taking biologic medications after being in remission for a long time. About 40 participants who have been on biologics for at least 3 years and have no active disease will slowly reduce their dose over 3 months and then stop. They will be monitored for 12 months to see if the disease stays under control without medication.
