First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether long-acting injectable medications (aripiprazole or paliperidone) can better manage psychosis in people who use stimulants like methamphetamine, compared to standard care. 165 participants in Hong Kong received monthly or quarterly shots to control symptoms and prevent progression to schizophrenia. The goal was to improve treatment adherence and outcomes in a group that often stops oral medications early.
