New trial aims to turn back the clock on Pre-Cancerous stomach change
NCT ID NCT06610760
Summary
This study is testing if a medication called ursodeoxycholic acid can reverse a specific change in the stomach lining called intestinal metaplasia, which can increase cancer risk. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo in about 196 adults who do not have an H. pylori infection. Participants will take the assigned treatment daily for six months and have regular checkups to see if the stomach condition improves or worsens.
