New stomach cancer strategy: attack tumor and infection together
NCT ID NCT06510010
Summary
This study is testing if adding treatment for a common stomach bacteria (H. pylori) to standard chemotherapy works better for patients with locally advanced stomach cancer. About 200 participants will receive chemotherapy before and after surgery. Half will also get the H. pylori treatment starting with their first chemo cycle, while the other half will get it later after surgery. Researchers will compare how much the tumor shrinks and how long patients live without the cancer returning.
