New belly chemo trial aims to stop stomach cancer spread

Summary
This study is testing if adding a chemotherapy drug (paclitaxel) directly into the abdominal cavity, along with standard IV chemotherapy, works better than standard IV chemotherapy alone for people with advanced stomach cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the standard treatment or the standard treatment plus the abdominal chemotherapy. The main goals are to see if the new approach helps control the cancer longer and helps people live longer.
